The University of Westminster Higher Education Research Centre is a university-wide higher education research group.

Dispersed throughout the University of Westminster there are a relatively large number of individuals who have achieved highly and been promoted on the strength of their scholarship in learning and teaching or who are engaged in innovative inquiry and research into the practice of teaching and learning. HERC provides an environment which provides these (often lone) researchers with a space in which they can develop and share their expertise in educational research with like-minded colleagues, increasing their collective knowledge and skills.

The research centre is dedicated to building a strong research culture informing practice in learning and teaching within the University. This involves developing research supervision and leadership skills for those focusing on teaching and learning in HE.

With a growing reputation for educational and interdisciplinary research through excellence, Westminster is able to attract larger grants and undertake larger projects, creating a stronger, more vibrant research and practice based educational environment.
