The project aims to build an interdisciplinary pedagogic research group with the capacity to plan, execute and disseminate research that will support and strengthen the development of teaching and learning practice across the UoW, and have an international impact, thereby helping to grow the University’s reputation for both teaching excellence and research.
This group will have the pan university Higher Education Research Centre Steering Group at its core but will extend into each faculty. The plan centres on providing staff development for completing project proposals and writing for publication; extending successful research outcomes and practice in teaching and learning across the university, and developing a mentor network to further support development in pedagogic research and practice. A number of outputs such as publications and workshops are planned, as well as a long term impact on teaching and learning. The project begins in April 2013, completes in July 2014 and will be evaluated for its success in developing outputs, and in terms of the perceived learning support received from training.
